I started in the pandemic, spring of 2019, to write my work. I didn't know what to expect of the platform. But I see that it's changed fundamentally.

All sexual and illicit content is being marginalized. Women are being pushed aside.

It's men and tech, now. Too many stupid listicles. Not enough personal essays. I can find this drivel anywhere on the internet. Why pay $5 a month?

Readers pay for content they CAN'T find elsewhere. Like my publication, The Scarlett Letter, for example. I bring in paying readers.

Ummm, hello Medium?! Lean into the weird. And off beat. Don't conform. Don't be like everyone else. Value individuality.
That's what makes you worth reading.
