The Secret Solution for the Inevitable Mid-Life Crisis
The Sky is Falling
This is the part where everything falls apart.
My job is unfulfilling and demanding. My marriage is loveless and bitter. My friends are shallow and unfeeling. Nothing makes sense anymore.
Should I start over? Can I start over? Why even bother? Will anything really change?
For men and for women, it’s the same story: around forty-five to fifty, the desperation hits. Men start flings with younger women, and women “rethink” their priorities.
It’s sad and predictable.
We are all in the same boat. We think we can start over and create a new life with a different template, but the shape is the same. You make the same mistakes with a new unsuspecting partner. Making even more mistakes with your miserable children. Or, if you’re lucky, brand new blunders if you screw someone young enough.
Your family becomes a shipwreck.
You think that material stuff is the root of all evil, or you take comfort in all material possessions. It’s one or the other. You either want to live like an ascetic or a banker. You can’t decide which is worse.
