The truths of adultery are as follows:

  • “No Drama” is synonymous with douchebag.
The literal translation is, “I’m going to act like a shit head early and often and if you call me out on my bullshit, I will shrug my shoulders and maybe, apologize but probably not.”
I will whine and say, “this is supposed to be fun” when you complain about my lack of maturity.
If you would like to have an affair with the equivalent of a self-absorbed teenager, go ahead.
  • Honesty? What’s that? An antiquated concept in today’s world. No one is honest. Especially in adultery land. You believe what you want to believe. That’s about it.
    “Do you lie to me?”
    “Do you think I do?”
The correct answer would be yes. Everyone lies. Nothing is true except maybe desire. That can be faked too. Don’t forget.
“Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off, but it’s better if you do,” from the movie, Closer.
That’s the truth, let me assure you.
  • Excuses.
    “This week is rough.”
    “I am swamped.”
    “I can’t talk right now.”
When the meets become sporadic and you sense this is the beginning of the end. It’s as inevitable as the early beats of passion.
    Why bother prolonging the pain?
Rip the band-aid off and start the cycle anew.
  • When a partner pulls away…
